GTA3: Catalina-in'

I've been playing GTA3 (the "first" one) for years now, every so often coming back to try and finish the final mission again. Today I gave up, and decided perhaps I really should collect more than 10 hidden packages and stock up at the hideout for the final mission. So far, getting past it without is impossible.

I really don't care to get games to 100% completion. I'm a narrativist. I want to see the story through, but nothing more. If I find a few secrets accidentally, great, but I'm not going to feel bad when the game's done and I missed some.

GTA3 isn't letting me do that. Instead of getting to the satisfaction of watching the last cut scene, again and again I'm blocked out for not having finished the game. Then today, after collecting six or so more packages, I find a rampage icon and give that a shot, never having done so before. Bad idea. Wasted by the rufbo-patented putting the pin back into the grenade. *sigh*

Oh well. If the new screen didn't get me seasick playing, I'd probably try again. As is, I'll wait another few months (my last save gave is from 2003) and try again.

I'm totally with you on this. After trying to drop papers from an airplane 8 or 9 times, I dropped the controller, pulled the game out and sold it on Ebay.
